These terms govern your use of TokenBeaver — the CLI gateway, the VS Code extension, and the website. By installing or using TokenBeaver, you agree to them. If you're using it for an organization, you accept on its behalf.
TokenBeaver is a tool that optimizes AI coding requests locally on your device to reduce token usage. You bring your own model-provider credentials — an API key or a provider subscription; TokenBeaver forwards your requests to that provider unchanged except for the optimizations it applies. We don't resell model access and we aren't a party to your agreement with your model provider.
The Free plan is free forever: unlimited optimization, no login, no card, with estimated savings shown on your local dashboard. Pro is $10/month (an introductory price you keep for as long as you stay subscribed) or $100/year, billed through our payment processor; it adds verified savings, the Activity Log, and the savings guarantee. Cancel anytime from the self-serve portal at /billing/manage; cancellation stops future charges and keeps your access until the paid period ends.
Pro carries the savings guarantee: if your verified savings for a billing period don't exceed the subscription price for that period, that period is refunded — requested in-product and applied automatically at your next renewal. The guarantee, as described at /guarantee, is our refund policy (see also /refund). One guarantee refund per billing period; billing errors and duplicate charges are refunded separately on request.
Use TokenBeaver lawfully and in line with your model provider's terms. Don't attempt to resell, reverse-engineer for circumvention, abuse the optimization service, or use it to violate others' rights. We may suspend access for activity that threatens the service or other users.
You're responsible for your own API keys, your model-provider charges, and the code and prompts you run through your editor. TokenBeaver runs locally and uses a fail-open design, but you should keep your own backups and review outputs before relying on them. Don't use TokenBeaver to circumvent model-provider rate limits in ways that violate those providers' terms of service.
TokenBeaver collects pseudonymous usage telemetry, described completely in the Privacy Policy. Nothing is sent before you accept these Terms on first run, and the telemetry can be switched off at any time.
TokenBeaver is provided as-is. We're not liable for API costs, model behavior, or data loss. Savings vary by workload, model, and usage; no specific savings level is promised. Pro instead carries the savings guarantee: if your verified savings for a billing period don't exceed the subscription price, that period is refunded (see /guarantee). Nothing in this section limits that commitment. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is otherwise limited to the amount you paid us in the 6 months before a claim.
